Welcome to our Villa! 

Villa Blue, spread across 350 m2 (3770 sqf), beautiful and elegant, ideally located centrally in Batu Belig, with one of the many highlights which is location, location, location…100 metres to the beach, easy walking to restaurants, shops and cafes in Batu Belig and short distance to Seminyak, Petitenget and Canggu. Our villa is designed for you to relax, completely renovated in 2016 and fully refreshed each six months, we blend Bali design with modern contemporary, to provide a sense of security, relaxation and comfort.

We are a beautiful Balinese style villa, with lots of modern amenities. We visit every six months to stay in the villa and assess everything through the eyes of a guest. Although the Balinese culture is to ensure something is truly broken before replacement, we keep an eye on the aesthetics and usability as well, trying to keep everything looking fresh. It’s an ongoing effort, as with all rooms affected by the Bali heat and salt air, but we replace and refresh significant items each visit.

And with your booking with us through Airbnb, we provide this page to update you on the latest about the villa, any updates on travel info we have, and some other bits to make sure you have a great stay with us!

Latest Updates:

So, we have to share one of the most exciting things from this trip (Sept 2024) and it isn’t even all the work we completed on the villa! It’s that Bali now has automated immigration gates so if you get your eVOA before landing, you fly right through the gates to baggage and customs! If you haven’t been to Bali before, this could save up to two hours in your arrival! It’s a great step forward to helping guests land and get right to the villa. Now, if they could automate the traffic outside the villa…

We were able to get some nice refreshes done this time, the main ones including:

• Fully re-painted bedroom 3 and shifted the TV to allow for the future installation of some shelving for clothes. This room is mostly an entertainment room, but when it’s set up as the third bedroom, we want to make it easier for guests to unpack some things in the room. We also think the new TV location, facing the pool, works much better

• Full repaint of bedroom 2

• New knife set and new pan set for the kitchen

• Repair works on the cabinetry in the 3BR’s ensuite. Salt air and humidity are really tough on natural wood so we took steps to make the under-sink cabinet more visually attractive

• Minor updates to the folding doors in the 3BR

• Set up all 3 new smart TVs to allow our cable subscription to work via aerial. There’s some great content there if you get tired of using your Netflix or such!

• All new handles on the kitchen cabinetry. The kitchen is a native Balinese hardwood so we hope to keep it in good working order for years to come. But the handles were getting a little tired so we installed all new modern looking handles. They look great!

• New linens, of course. This is usually something that happens every three months. Our beds get rave reviews (some even asking where we got the mattresses!) so we pride ourselves on nice, comfy linens

• Unfortunately, we’ve had a few things “taken” by previous guests so we got some replacement touches for the bathrooms and such

The only thing we couldn’t finish, which luckily doesn’t impact guests, is a constantly running water pump. We get our water from a 45m deep well and have a specialty plumber helping us fix that over the next few months. Guests won’t even notice except Wayan will ask to turn off the pump switch if you leave the villa for a long period - just trying to save on motor replacements!

So, it’s been another productive trip! It’s funny when we ask Wayan to replace things like the kitchen cabinet handles, as they work just fine… but we want them to LOOK good as well! And, as always, if you see something that we could have a look at after your visit, do let us know in the Airbnb chat. We can’t always address everything - one guest wanted to swim laps in our pool - but we’re always looking for little things to improve for your next stay.

• airport transport pickup and drop-off in an air-conditioned vehicle (please confirm arrival times and departure confirm with us - local prices apply). We highly recommend this as the local transport team know our villa and communicate directly with Wayan. They are reasonably priced and you’re helping local businesses

• daily coffee and tea provided. We don’t offer a chef as they are quite expensive and the quality can vary widely. Just go to Watercress - we do every single day!

• a safe for your personal belongings (please secure the key as it’s expensive to replace)

• daily cleaning (religious holidays excepted)

• daily support from the team, as interactive/supportive or private as you require

Villa Blue Staff

The villa is taken care of by a wonderful team including gardner, pool, housekeeper and villa manager. The rooms and villa are refreshed and cleaned daily. A part-time or full-time driver can be provide upon request as well (at local rates). Our team can arrange many things for you, for example, massage (not in-villa due to danger to linens), restaurant reservations, adventure tours, etc.

We can also arrange airport transfer to/from in an air-conditioned vehicle (at local rates).

• 3 tvs (46 inch, 46-inch with internet, 32-inch with internet). All have Indovision tv cable featuring over 40+ English channels including CNN, Fox, music, etc.

Lastly:

We are here to help in any way we can. Either speak to Wayan (or WhatsApp him) or message us on Airbnb if we can do anything during your visit. As we are a private villa, not a hotel, just like any other house, there will be issues now and then. We keep spares of a lot of things and have Wayan and our tradespeople on call. So if anything goes wrong during your stay, we will do all we can to fix it as quickly as possible.

One thing we can’t control is the Bali electricity supply. While we just upgraded the system in the villa to effectively handle all we’ve added, the local supply can have issues now and then. If the power does go out, message Wayan and he can see if it’s a local problem or something simple in the villa.

Also, the walk to the beach is quite short but there’s about 30m with no footpath. Just walk along the side, single file, and the traffic will be very considerate and go around you. I use my phone torch walking back at night just so oncoming traffic can see me easier. It’s always a pleasant walk!
